Specialist Schools Status :: Sacred Heart School

On 26th January 2005, School Standards Minister Stephen Twigg announced that Sacred Heart High School had been successful in their bid to join the 1,954 schools that are already part of the Specialist Schools Programme.

Mathematics & Computing Colleges will:

    Specialist Schools Trust
  • Develop a visible mathematics and computing ethos in which the specialist subjects pervade all aspects of school life and work with the local community which includes the imaginative use of ICT, curriculum enrichment activities and involvement in national initiatives and competitions to raise standards of teaching and learning and attainment in the specialist subjects and across the curriculum.
  • Provide a range of courses at all key stages to cater for individual needs within school and provide a range of opportunities for adult learners.
  • Develop and disseminate good practice to be shared with other schools and the wider community.
  • Work in partnership with local business to provide opportunities to demonstrate the relevance of mathematics & computing within a working context.
