Within Sacred Heart High School, sex education is part of a whole school approach to personal and social development and is informed by the values and teachings of the Catholic church.

The delivery of sex education is through a planned, balanced and cross-curricular programme that spirals throughout the 11-16 age range. The Sex Education programme is placed in the context of and supported by, the very strong Christian ethos and Mission Statement that drives our school.

Our programme hopes to complement the role of the parent/carer as their daughter develops into adulthood. The programme affirms our Catholic teachings about marriage and family life whilst also recognising the cosmopolitan community in which we live.
